Recruitment For APSC –  Assam Home Guard Services 2026

1. Basic Eligibility & Domicile

• Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
• Residency: Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam.
• Proof of Domicile: A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate must be uploaded as proof of residency.

2. Educational Qualification

• Minimum Degree: The candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government.
• Documentation: All semester/year mark sheets and the final pass certificate must be uploaded during the application.

3. Age Requirements (as of 01-01-2026)

• General Category: Minimum 21 years and maximum 38 years.
• Relaxations:
  • SC/ST: Up to 43 years (5-year relaxation).
  • OBC/MOBC: Up to 41 years (3-year relaxation).
  • Ex-Servicemen (Unreserved): Maximum 50 years, with further relaxations for reserved categories (3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST).

4. Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the following minimum physical measurements:

• 
  Weight: Must be proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

5. Medical & General Health Standards

• Vision: Minimum distant vision of 6/6 and 6/9 in the two eyes without correction (no glasses).
• Hearing: No degree of deafness or persistent ear discharge.
• General Health: Candidates must be free from knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, stammering, and chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, or asthma.
• Surgery: Candidates must have completed 6 months after LASIK surgery to be considered.

6. Other Requirements

• Small Family Norms: Candidates must submit a declaration (Form-A) regarding the Small Family Norms at the time of application.
• Character Certificates: Candidates must produce a character certificate from the Principal/Academic Officer of their last attended institution and from two respectable, non-related individuals.

Government Employees: Regular Assam Government employees must upload a certificate of employment or a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) if seeking pay protection.
