    • Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Environmental Science / Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Pharmacy AND 5 years of post-qualification experience in R&D (industrial/academic/scientific activities).
    • Desirable: Knowledge of plants, experience in catalysis and Green Chemistry methods, publication record (including cellulose-based materials and environmental remediation).
  • Post Code 02 (Senior Project Associate):
    • Essential Qualification:
      • Ph.D. in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Pharmacy AND 2 years of post-qualification R&D experience, OR
      • Master’s in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Pharmacy AND 3 years of post-qualification research experience.
    • Desirable: Knowledge of organic chemistry, experience in column chromatography, and crystallisation.
  • Post Code 03 (Project Associate – I):
    • Essential Qualification: M.Sc in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Pharmacy.
  • Post Code 04 (Project Associate – I):

3. Shortlisting & Selection Process

  • Academic Performance & Experience: Shortlisting is conducted by the Project Team based on candidates’ academic qualifications and experience.
  • Selection Mode: Only shortlisted candidates are called for an Offline Interview at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat.
  • Computer Skills: Candidates are expected to have computer knowledge for day-to-day work.
  • Ineligibility: Result-awaited candidates are not eligible to apply.

4. Key Terms & Conditions

  • Nature of Engagement: Purely temporary, co-terminus with the project duration, and grants no right for regular employment at the institute.
  • Maximum Tenure: The total cumulative engagement as project staff cannot exceed 6 years across CSIR institutes.
  • NOC Requirement: Existing CSIR-NEIST project staff must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to apply.
