Other Criteria of NFR Recruitment 2026
1. Mode of Selection (Merit-Based)
- General Trades: Selection is made strictly on the basis of a unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise merit list. The merit list is calculated using the average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (Class 10) + ITI marks in the relevant trade.
- Medical Laboratory Technicians: For the Pathology and Radiology trades, the merit list is prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation + 12th Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
- Tie-Breaker: If two or more candidates have equal marks, the older candidate is ranked higher. If their date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier is preferred.
2. Educational & Technical Qualifications
- For General Trades: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or its equivalent under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. They must also possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
- Note: The minimum 50% mark requirement in Matriculation is waived for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
- For Medical Laboratory Technicians: Candidates must have passed both Class 10 and Class 12 (under the 10+2 system) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in both levels.
- Status of Qualification: Only completing the course is not sufficient; candidates must already be in possession of their final ITI pass certificate/NTC/STC as of the date of the notification.
3. Age Limit (As of the closing date)
- Minimum Age: 15 years.
- Maximum Age: 24 years.
- Upper Age Relaxations:
- SC / ST: Relaxed by 5 years (up to 29 years).
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Relaxed by 3 years (up to 27 years).
- PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): Relaxed by 10 years.
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxed by the extent of service rendered in the Defense Forces plus 3 years, up to a maximum addition of 10 years.
4. Other Essential Criteria
- Application Limit: Candidates are allowed to submit only one application. Submitting multiple applications will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Medical Fitness: Shortlisted candidates must submit a medical certificate signed by an authorized Government Doctor (Gazetted), not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon, at the time of Document Verification.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification to the extent of 1.5 times the number of notified vacancies.

2. Registration & Application Steps
- One Application Policy: You are allowed to submit only one application. Submitting multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification.
- Registration: First-time users must register themselves on the portal to generate a Registration Number. You must preserve this number for all future selection stages and correspondence.
- Fill Preferences: Carefully read the training slots for your specific ITI trade and list your choices for Unit-Department-Trade combinations in order of your preference.
- Contact Details: Ensure your registered mobile number and email address remain active throughout the entire recruitment process.
3. Mandatory Documents to Upload
You must upload legible scanned copies of the following documents during the online application process:
- Class 10 (Matriculation): Mark sheet and Pass Certificate (also serves as proof of date of birth).
- Class 12 (For Medical Lab Technicians only): Mark sheet and Pass Certificate showing Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- ITI Documents: Consolidated mark sheet for all semesters and the National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT (or Provisional Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT).
- Category Certificates (If applicable): Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC, or income/asset certificate for EWS.
- Ex-Servicemen Quota: Discharge or serving certificate.
- Fee Exemption: Income certificate for EBC candidates seeking a fee waiver.
- Disability Quota: Disability certificate for PwBD candidates.
- Photos & Signature: Scanned passport-size color photograph (front view, no cap or sunglasses) and your scanned signature according to the website’s specifications.
4. Application Fee Payment
- Fee Amount: A non-refundable fee of ₹100 must be paid online via the integrated payment gateway.
- Exemptions: SC, ST, PwBD, EBC, and women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
- Modifications: If you need to correct minor errors after final submission, you can do so by paying a modification fee of ₹50 per occasion (note: core registration details cannot be changed).
5. Final Submission
- After a successful payment/exemption, complete the remaining process and download/print your application form for your personal record. You will need to bring this printout along with original documents if you are shortlisted for Document Verification.
