Other Criteria of Samagra Shiksha Axom Recruitment 2026
General Eligibility & Nature of Post
- Gender: Reserved exclusively for female candidates.
- Medium of Instruction: Candidates must have studied in Assamese medium at the HSLC level.
- Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as of January 1, 2026 (with age relaxations for SC, ST, OBC/MOBC, and PwD as per Assam Govt. norms).
- Job Nature: Purely temporary and contractual for an initial period of 11 months. It requires mandatory residence in the school hostel.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Full-Time Assistant Teacher (Science / Arts):
- Master’s Degree in the specific subject.
- B.Ed. from a recognized university.
- Higher Secondary TET qualified. (Non-TET candidates can apply if TET candidates are unavailable, but must clear TET within three consecutive exams if selected).
- Part-Time Assistant Teacher (Arts – Hindi):
- Master’s Degree in Hindi.
- B.Ed. from a recognized university.
- Higher Secondary TET qualified is preferred (Non-TET candidates are also eligible to apply if TET candidates are unavailable).
