Other Criteria of IOCL Recruitment 2026
- No Written Test: Selection is entirely merit-based.
- Merit Selection: Candidates are shortlisted based on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in their prescribed qualifying examination (ordered in descending order).
- Minimum Marks: The qualifying regular, full-time course must be completed with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates against reserved seats).
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years old as of June 30, 2026, with standard age relaxations for reserved categories.
- Tie-Breaker Rule: If two or more candidates have the same percentage, the candidate senior in age (by date of birth) is ranked higher. If the date of birth is also identical, the higher percentage in Matriculation (Class 10) is considered.
- First-Time Preference: Preference is given to candidates who are applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
- Final Stages: Shortlisted candidates must successfully pass Document Verification and be declared fit in a Pre-Engagement Medical Examination to receive an offer.

- Step II: Submit Microsoft Form (Mandatory)

- Navigate to ‘What’s New’ > Engagement of Apprentices under Bongaigaon Refinery.
- Click the link to submit additional details via the Microsoft Form using the exact same email and mobile number registered on the apprentice portal.
