About Assam Veterinary and Fishery University (AVFU)
The Assam Veterinary and Fishery University (AVFU) was established under a 2024 Act of the Assam Legislative Assembly to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in animal and aquatic sciences. Headquartered in Khanapara, Guwahati, the specialized university was formed by merging existing veterinary and fishery colleges previously under Assam Agricultural University. AVFU focuses on advancing education, research, and technology transfer across veterinary, dairy, and fishery sciences, while actively undertaking rural community extension work and national or international collaborations.

Educational & Technical Qualifications
- Essential Qualification: A postgraduate degree in professional courses, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Life Sciences.
- Desirable Qualification: Practical expertise in Animal cell culture and Molecular biology works.
