Name of the Post: Assistant Professor (Contractual) in the Department of Anatomy.
Scale of Pay: A consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 1,42,506-00. (Note: If campus accommodation is provided, applicable deductions will be made from this amount ).
Other Criteria of AIIMS Guwahati Recruitment 2026
1. Age Criteria
- Maximum Age Limit: Candidates must not exceed 50 years of age as of the last date of the application.
- Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxations beyond the 50-year limit are permitted for specific categories as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (OH-OL & BL): 10 years
- Government Servants: 05 years (as per DoPT instructions)
- Note: No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applying for this specific post since it is an unreserved (UR) vacancy.
2. Qualifications & Experience for Medical Candidates
- Essential Educational Qualification:
- A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956.
- A postgraduate qualification (e.g., MD/MS) or a recognized qualification equivalent to it in Anatomy.
- Experience Required: * At least 3 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of speciality (Anatomy) after obtaining the qualifying MD/MS degree.
- DNB Equivalence Rules:
- Candidates holding a DNB must produce documentary evidence of its equivalence with MD/MS as per the NMC/MCI notification dated 31.10.2018.
- No extra experience is needed if the DNB training was done at institutions matching Para 2 (a) & (b) of the NMC notification.
- An extra 1 year or 2 years of experience is required if the DNB was obtained from institutions matching Para 2 (c) & (d) respectively.
3. Qualifications & Experience for Non-Medical Candidates
- Essential Educational Qualification:
- A Master’s degree in the concerned discipline—specifically M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy).
- A Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from a recognized university in the concerned discipline.
- Experience Required:
- At least 3 years of teaching and/or research experience in the discipline after obtaining the Doctorate degree.
4. General Eligibility & Selection Criteria
- Cut-off Date: The crucial date to determine all eligibility criteria (upper age limit, essential qualifications, and experience) is the last date of application submission (31.05.2026).
- Experience Counting: The required period of teaching/research experience will only be counted after the candidate has obtained the prescribed educational qualification.
- Shortlisting Method: Meeting the minimum qualification does not automatically guarantee an interview. A Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on their bio-data. If a large number of applications are received, a Screening Test may be conducted to further shortlist candidates for the interview.

1. Application Submission (Soft Copy)
- Email Submission: You must send a soft copy of your completed application form to the email address: faculty-recruitment@aiimsguwahati.ac.in.
- Deadline: The soft copy must be sent on or before 31.05.2026.
- Application Format: The application form must be duly typed (preferably in Times New Roman font, size 12) using the format provided in Annexure-I of the document. It must be supported by self-attested copies of your testimonials and certificates.
- Photo and Signature: Make sure to paste a recent passport-size photograph, and ensure that both your photo and signature are clearly visible in the application. You must also sign each page of the application form.
2. Application Fee Payment
- Fee Amount: The application fee is Rs. 1,500 (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only) for Unreserved, OBC, and EWS candidates.
- Exempted Categories: There is no application fee for SC, ST, PwBD, and Women candidates of any community.
- Payment Mode: Payment must be made via a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of “AIIMS GUWAHATI” payable at GUWAHATI.
- Important DD Instruction: You must clearly write your name and the post applied for in capital letters on the back of the Demand Draft. The original DD must be brought to the interview.
3. Interview & Document Verification Requirements
- Website Tracking: You need to regularly check the official website (https://aiimsguwahati.ac.in) for the specific date, time, and venue for the document verification and interviews.
- Reporting Time: On the day of your interview, you must report by 08:30 AM.
- Documents to Bring: You must bring the completed application form along with the original certificates, testimonials, and the original Demand Draft for verification.
4. Checklist of Enclosures to Attach

You will not be allowed to appear for the interview without it.
