Nationality / Citizenship:

A candidate must be either (i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st Jan. 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the interview but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him / her by the Government of India.

Age Requirements (As of March 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 20 years.
• Maximum Age: 30 years.
• Birth Date Range: Candidates must have been born between March 2, 1996, and March 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Upper Age Relaxations:

• SC/ST: 5 years.
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years.
• Ex-Servicemen/Commissioned Officers: 5 years.
• Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years.

Educational Qualification

• Degree: A Graduation degree in any discipline from a government-recognized university.
• Documentation: Candidates must possess a valid Mark-sheet or Degree Certificate indicating they are a graduate on the day of registration.
• Percentage: The specific percentage obtained must be indicated in the online application (CGPA/OGPA must be converted to a percentage).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: At least 18 months of post-qualification experience.
• Role: Experience must be as an Officer.
• Institution: Must be from a Scheduled Commercial Bank or a Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.

Language Proficiency

• Mandatory Requirement: Proficiency in the local language (reading, writing, and understanding) of the state applied for is essential.
• Exemption: Candidates who have studied the specified local language in the 10th or 12th standard (evidenced by a mark sheet/certificate) are exempt from the language proficiency test.
• Test: Others must pass a local language test conducted during the selection process

Other Essential Criteria

• Credit History: Candidates must maintain a healthy credit history with a minimum CIBIL score of 650 or above at the time of joining.
• Employment Status: Current employees of Punjab & Sind Bank are not eligible to apply.
• State Application: A candidate can apply for vacancies in one state only.
